OK. The next season is just around the corner and this is the time that us, the admin team, start to think about the map list for the league.

The question is along with the usual standard maps that will undoubtedly feature in the maplist, what map/maps would you like to see in there to test you and your opponents? Wildcard lesser played maps always help provide a few "upset" results and of course break the monotony during a season.

Now personally I have a love of bright maps nowadays and like the idea of the likes of de_villa being brought in from the cold and used as a more common league/cup map. Maps such as de_strike, de_season and de_tuscan have already crossed that boundry and are common choices now for alot of leagues and event hosts, but what map interests you in inclusion to the maplist?

nooooo, please dont ruin the season.. clans who want to play these maps have the choice to enter the funcups and mini leagues. the season is the most serious event that KGL hold and its the only similarity it has to other leagues where the teams that enter are looking for a more serious event. the last 2 seasons were 5 or 6 maps (i think) and u still have lots to choose from;

My ideal would be:

dd2
de_dust - (imo a massively underused match map these days - used to be great a few years back when it was popular)
inferno
contra
tuscan

With additional maps if you want more weeks:

nuke
train
prodigy (not played that in matches for years either!)

I personally dont like strike, Ive never had a fun match on it, and dont think its great. Cbble is just boring to play on.
As for the other "random" maps that have been mentioned eg. vegas, forge etc - I agree with the other responses, maps like that should be reserved for the cups/minileagues, the proper "season" is the competitive serious event, and should be kept to proper maps.

- Tuscan
- Inferno
- Nuke
- Train
- Cbble

I find Cbble pretty sound, just seems like a massively underrated map.

Really though stick to the favourites, Nuke Train Inferno D2 (inevitable really) and then a few other of the non-standard ones like Tuscan

Stay std for season 8.

Run an 8.5 season on the fun stuff inbetween seasons 8 and 9

If it isnt already a regularly played map (tuscan, season, etc), im not that interested in it being included in a season personaly. I dont want to have to download any extra maps.

i agree on this season event that it should have the normal " serious" maps in it instead of the more unknown maps.....

tbh cbble can be good....no with mill keep with tuscan tbh.....like 3 of our team couldn't join villa last time no matter where they dl'd it from or how ever many times they deleted it etc etc.....im sure other people would get that problem too.

imo follow EDCSSL maplist if it runs along side as then clans only have to practice one map a week tis my opinion so called 'fun' maps shud be saved for 'fun cups' seeing as they are fun and not very serious.

Nothing wrong with Prodigy, I know I enjoyed my fair share in cs 1.6

+1 for Russka btw, I've only played it once a wee while ago for a KGL cup and kind of liked it. Good balanced map with enough room for changes of tactics.

ta! Just dont have the time to learn two maps a week at the moment. Since we're already entered into EDCSSL we're hoping you can mirror those maps which would conveniently let us play two league matches a week.

Also I dont think people would be against an extra two or so weeks worth of the league for more under played maps to be given a chance?

I remember the first match we played against you 3 or 4 years ago, was on cbble and the most boring match ever. All you did was sitting somewhere for 1:15min and do a late rush on A mid. I think that was the only match we ever won against you.

it aint that we dnt knw how to play the maps coz imo takes about 3-4 rounds in one game to figure out how to play any map so has nothing to do with tht at the end of the day uve only gotta shoot heads.

main reason for normal maps is purely a personal preference especially with i39 upcoming so focusing time n effort on lan maps over cup maps ect

were not complaining about the maps cos we dont know them, were complaining because we do.. they are horrid maps and the moment you start a match on a biased map you limit the amount u can do on it. if you limit the amount you can do you lose variety. if u cannot vary your play then you get bored. if you get bored you stop playing. if you stop playing you become bad. if you become bad people wont recruit you. if people wont recruit you you stay bad. if your bad you uninstall and join people in the real world. why would anybody want this. cobble is a clankiller!

Just to clarify, the season won't start for a month anyway as we have a couple of weeks left of the pre-season tourny so although there might be some overlap with EDCSSL, for the most part it won't.

Also there won't be any "silly" maps in the league so don't worry.
